life is elsewhere

i went for a walk this afternoon and i actually saw people outside. recently i've even started to see houses with lights on. i suppose it's because all the houses around here are rented out to students at the college down the street. that would explain why they were all dark on new year's eve. everyone with some more interesting place to be on new year's was there leaving me with a ten block radius all to my self.

i woke up this afternoon around 1pm after staying up until 3am last night watching old macgyver episodes. that was my favorite show when i was a kid. after watching some shows last night, i'm a little embarrased. i guess people who watch television these days are a little more sophisticated than they were twenty years ago. one episode i watched had him robbing a casino where the difficult part was getting past the single security camera in front of the penthouse door. at the end of the episode, he rigged up a parachute to his car and drove it off a cargo plane in midflight. perfectly balanced and everything. i guess things are always better when you remember them. good thing nobody is following me around with a camera. i can still embellish on the daily mediocrity when i look back as an old man. as long as i don't write too many boring details about my current life in here...
